Welcome to the Eye On African Art

Eye on African Art was initiated in January 2007 for the sole purpose of promoting and offering upcoming artists with places to exhibit their work.

It has continued to be the goal of our organisation to provide its member artists with freedom and cost effective tailored exhibitions to suit their individual artistic styles.

By doing so we give artists the opportunity to harness their talents. We invite all existing and upcoming artists through press adverts to take part in our various exhibitions all year round.

As it has a pool of talented artists, Eye on African Art takes pride in being regarded as a “one-stop exhibition opportunity. Popular paintings in Eye on African Art exhibitions include Wildlife , Culture , Nature and Old Town / Lamu with the following artistic styles :-

  • Abstract
  • Expressionism
  • Surrealism
  • Impressionism
  • Realism

FEATURED ARTSTISTs

AL' amir Hussein

I was Born in Mombasa Kenya and I grew up Playing on the narrow Arabic influenced streets of the Old Town Mombasa.I always traveled with my trader father along the coast of East Africa. The colors of the coastline, sky and buildings fascinated me and I sketched the Swahili and Arabs of the Kenyan coast, Seascapes and Street scenes as I watched my father trade with them. Am a self-taught artist with a great depth for perspective as my coastal scenes depict. The street scenes that I Paint.

In many of my paintings you can feel the heat emanating from the white-washed walls and want to take refuge inside. The stone walls keep people cool, even as they sip their strong sweet coffee. Even to this day the Old Town has changed little - the narrow streets, the bright white walls, and the ornate woodwork of the doors and lentils remain as a reminder of the past.
