Décor images from fabrics, stencils and wall paper are also used extensively in my work.
I conciously try not to control the image but attempt at all times to remain as receptive as possible to what I see happening on the canvas, leaving all preconceptions behind and working without consequence.
My images are about the process, the colours, the lines and the shapes that emerge in front of me.
They take on their own life and become another experience, sometimes remincent of the intial trigger, sometimes not.
My work is mostly not of a figurative nature but should a recognisable form appear, it is because it wants to and not because I have dictated it to be there.
My work is also about the materials I use and their properties and I try to respect them with all the integrity that I have.
