Figurative Images on canvas are used extensively in my work.
I conciously try not to control the image but attempt at all times to remain as receptive as possible to what I see happening on the canvas, leaving all preconceptions behind and working without consequence.
My images are about the activities, the colours, the lines and the shapes that emerge in front of me.
They take on their own life and become another experience, sometimes remincent of the intial trigger, sometimes not.
My work is mostly inspired by nature and contemplory life in Africa,
My work is also about the materials I use and their properties and I try to respect them with all the integrity that I have.
